Product design

Portable designs digital products end to end by working out what's worth building, designing and testing it with the people who'll use it, and shipping something that works when people need it most.

Every product we build starts the same way: understanding the problem worth solving before a single screen gets designed, then testing early and often with the people who'll actually use it. We've designed and built products like amica, which supports separating couples to divide assets for the Attorney-General's Department and the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, and My Journey, which helps people diagnosed with breast cancer navigate their next steps for Breast Cancer Network Australia. Every product goes through the same rhythm: research with the people who'll use it, and prototypes tested in rounds rather than shown once.

What we do:

  • Product strategy and discovery: defining the problem worth solving, and validating it with real users, before design begins.
  • Research and usability testing: ongoing research and testing with the people who'll use the product, from separating couples to court attendees.
  • UX and UI design: designing interfaces for people navigating stressful or high-stakes situations, built to be clear under pressure.
  • Prototyping and iteration: testing product concepts in rounds, refining based on real feedback rather than shipping on a single guess.
  • Build and delivery: developing and launching production-ready products, from Sweep to amica to Courtsight.
  • Post-launch support: staying with a product after launch to improve it as needs change, including long-term partnerships like our work with headspace since 2017.
