We make complex information easier to find, understand, and act on for government, health, education, and justice organisations managing large volumes of information across audiences, channels, and services.
We make complex information easier to find, understand, and act on for government, health, education, and justice organisations managing large volumes of information across audiences, channels, and services.

Portable designs information around how people actually seek and use it. For Queensland Courts, we mapped how people encountered bail information and found that knowing legal terms did not mean understanding them. We simplified the website’s information architecture and created consistent content patterns, alongside a poster and pamphlet for courthouses, making critical information clearer across digital and physical touchpoints.

Portable brings different audiences into the design process, then uses what we learn to shape content around their needs. For the NSW Department of Education, we created anxiety literacy materials for students, caregivers and educators across diverse school communities. Three approaches were tested and refined in schools, resulting in accessible booklets, worksheets, posters and educator resources, with Bean as a guide for younger students. One student described the materials simply: they made them feel supported.
Portable creates practical standards and tools that work at the pace of delivery. For Bushfire Recovery Victoria, we developed personas, content principles and channel guidance for consistent recovery communications. When the 2021 floods and storms shifted priorities, we rapidly applied the same approach to onboarding, producing three CRM and data guides that BRV staff and partners were using within days.
