A one-day gathering at Sydney University on Thursday 20 November 2025, bringing together 50–70 designers, practitioners, researchers, and advocates exploring how design can help reshape the criminal justice system. The symposium seeks to share insights, surface tensions, and inspire collaboration between Indigenous designers, government practitioners, community advocates, and researchers.

We provide design-led approaches to help people resolve their own disputes without having to go through courts or tribunals. We designed and developed amica in partnership with National Legal Aid, which won the National Award for Best Government and Public Sector Solution of the Year at the 2020 iAwards.
We develop ways to connect people to the information they need, based on their situation. Our work includes the Legal Aid NSW Grants Tracker which provides people with updated information on their application for legal aid, as well as the Traffic Guided Pathway, which helps advise people on next steps for traffic infringements.
We have partnered with the Melbourne School of Government to explore how to better inform employees while they navigate and resolve employment issues. We are currently designing ways to facilitate conversations and provide information about employment rights and obligations in engaging, accessible ways.
We champion the intersection of access to justice and mental health in order to deliver and support youth justice. We have extensive experience working with young people in mental health services with Orygen and headspace. We are taking this approach to seek out ways that youth justice can be better delivered using design and technology.
