Designing for Change Symposium

Portable is proud to contribute to this national conversation on the intersections of design, technology, and justice.

A one-day gathering at Sydney University on Thursday 20 November 2025, bringing together 50–70 designers, practitioners, researchers, and advocates exploring how design can help reshape the criminal justice system. The symposium seeks to share insights, surface tensions, and inspire collaboration between Indigenous designers, government practitioners, community advocates, and researchers.

Our approach to transforming justice.

We proudly put people first in our projects:

At Portable, we've been putting people first to help transform justice since 2012.

We know that it takes more than good design to build a better justice system.

Which is why we use research, design, and technology to create services, prototypes, and products that seek to support those in need and exceed people's expectations of the justice system.
